OUR WINDOWS HELP PUT FAMILY'S LIFE BACK TOGETHER AFTER TORNADO

Central Woodwork's install crew unloads at the site.
Central Woodwork eagerly took part in the construction of a new home in Hendersonville, Tennessee to replace one that was destroyed by a tornado which also left a young mother paralyzed. The family's story was the subject of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Sunday, October 8th, 2006.
Amy Hawkins shielded her two sons from the fury of an F3 tornado in April that devastated their home, and many nearby properties. In response to an outcry of public support, the ABC television series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition replaced their home back in July, with the help of Capitol Builders and many of their peers, including the Central Woodwork team. (Read the story in this Tennessean article.)
Our install crew leapt to action and joined hundreds of volunteers and contractors to make a dream come true for the heroic mom and her family. Work was done well into the hot July nights, erecting a beautiful home in an unbelievably short period of time. (Check out our photo gallery of our day on the site.)

The finished new home.
Central Woodwork is humbled to have aided in this heart-warming opportunity, and we are thrilled to have seen the joy on the faces of the Hawkins family as their story was told on national television. |
